Apple Pie Coffee Cake
A decadent twist on a classic, this spiced apple bake blends Dutoit Granny Smith apples with cinnamon, coffee, and a hint of indulgence. Perfect for a cosy afternoon treat—or the next morning with your favourite brew.
Ingredients
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp ground nutmeg
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 4 large eggs
- 3 medium Dutoit Granny Smith apples, peeled and diced
- 1 cup miniature marshmallows (optional)
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- ½ cup coffee
Method
- Preheat oven to 175°C. Line a tin with baking paper and spray with non-stick spray.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients.
- Add the milk, oil, and eggs. Mix until smooth.
- In a baking pan, layer the batter and apples alternately until used up.
- Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Optional: drizzle with caramel sauce. Enjoy!
